The Center for New North Carolinians relies on volunteers from all walks of life to help serve our local immigrant and refugee families. Volunteering with the CNNC is a great way to serve others while building bridges between new and existing communities in the Greensboro area. Below are several ways to get involved while helping to welcome our newest neighbors!

Volunteers can commit to one afternoon a week for three hours to multiple afternoons a week. Find out more information and attend an upcoming orientation:

  • Thurs., Nov. 9, 6:00-7:30pm

Volunteers eager to welcome newcomers in our community are needed:

  • After-school homework assistance with school-aged immigrant & refugee youth, Monday-Thursday 3-6pm
  • Childcare for Thriving at Three weekly mother’s group, Thursdays from 10am-12pm
  • Implementing social enrichment activities for youth through our Bizkids, Fun-Fridays and grassroots GCS Parent Academy
  • Build relationships with adult newcomers through teaching English and Citizenship classes

Once you have started volunteering you can register for an upcoming Volunteer Engagement Training:

  • Wed., Nov., 16, 6:00-8:00pm *Prerequisite to have attended an orientation
  • Wed., Nov., 29 (**Oct. 25th session rescheduled) 6:00-8:00pm *Prerequisite to have attended an orientation
