We rely on volunteers from all walks of life to help serve our local immigrant and refugee community.

Volunteering with the CNNC is a great way to serve others while building bridges between new and existing communities in the Greensboro area. Below are several ways to get involved while helping to welcome our newest neighbors!

Volunteers eager to welcome newcomers in our community are needed on an ongoing basis. You can commit to one morning/afternoon a week for three hours to multiple days a week, if inspired.

You can:

  • Assist as English Learner Partners (ELP) assisting adults in conversation, and their children in reading adventures in our weekly ESOL classes.
  • Mentor and tutor school-aged immigrant & refugee youth, Monday-Thursday 3-6pm -especially in the month of May when a lot of our university volunteers are away on break
  • Be a part of our summer team through:
    • Volunteering for our social enrichment, tutoring, and facilitation of our summer book and financial literacy clubs during the months of May – August 1018.
    • Engaging in our Mystery Camp, for a second year, and stirring excellence through various forms of artistic expression.

If one of these areas inspire you to get involved, please register here, to attend one of our upcoming orientations:

  • Tues., Aug. 21; 6:00-8:00pm
  • Thurs., Aug. 23, 6:00-8:00pm
