Biographical Information
Kittichai Watchravesringkan (also known as Dr. Tu, his nickname among his students, colleagues, and his friends)
is currently an Assistant Professor in Consumer, Apparel, and Retail Studies at the University of North
Carolina at Greensboro. Tu received both his B.S. and M.S. degrees in Retailing and Consumer Sciences
from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville. A native of Thailand, he also earned a B.S. in Biotechnology
from King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology in Ladkrabang, Thailand.
His research interests mainly focus on cross-cultural studies related to advertising, service quality,
price perception, and multichannel retailing. He has recently developed research interests in financial
management (e.g., credit card consumption) of Hispanic college students, a project that has been funded by
the Take Charge America Institute (TCAI) at the University of Arizona. His work has been published in many
professional journals (the Journal of Fashion Marketing and Management, the International Journal of Consumer
Studies, the Journal of Targeting, Measurement, and Analysis in Marketing, Social Behavior and Personality,
International Journal of Retail and Distribution Management, and Clothing and Textile Research Journal) and
in book chapters (Diversity in Advertising, Handbook of Consumer Finance Research). His presentations have
been published in numerous conference proceedings (e.g., Cross-cultural Conferences, International Textile
Apparel Association, and Association for Consumer Research).
