Current Programs

Interpreter Access Project - Interpreter Bank

Contact: Susan Chilcott, Interpreter Bank Coordinator at 336.334.5411

Goal: To have a pool of trained interpreters in various languages who are culturally competent and professional to respond to requests for interpreters from local health and human service providers so that individuals with Limited English Proficiency can obtain culturally and linguistically appropriate assistance, in accordance with Title VI.

Requested languages included in our bank are Spanish, French, Vietnamese, Montagnard Languages (Rhade, Jarai, Mnong), Arabic, Russian, Swahili, Urdu, Khmer, Laotian, Hmong, Farsi/Persian, and Hindi.

Objectives:

  • Provide a diverse pool of trained professional interpreters.
  • Provide interpreters to Health and Human Service organizations to assure quality services.

Population/Area Served: Guilford County and the surrounding Triad area.

Sponsoring Source: Fee-based.
